Deputy Robert Locher has served the Sheriff's Office since 1992. He began as a Communications Technician and volunteered his time as a Special Deputy while attending Kent State University. In 1997, Deputy Locher was transferred to the Patrol Division where he patrolled the streets of Medina County.
In 2002, after learning of the opening, Deputy Locher requested, and was assigned to the position of School Resource Officer, to be stationed at the Buckeye Local School District. The School Resource Officer position is funded by the MCDAC Grant and Medina County. The Buckeye Local School District is not responsible for any funding for the position, and only provides an office and some supplies.
Although the students and staff of Buckeye Schools have off during Summer, Christmas and Spring Break, Deputy Locher returns to patrolling the streets of Medina County until school is back in session.
